So i have been in Melbourne for a couple of weeks now.
Seeing old friends and catching up with everyone.
I apsolutely love my car, ive been driving around everywhere, on random little trips, even just down to the shops 5 times a day so i get a chance to drive :)
I have put in a new stereo system and some spotlights aswell, for them late night driving trips, as the high beam lights are just like regular lights, very dull.
This week i have been on an exercise high, climbed 1000 stairs the other day, ive walked lilydale lake a few times and just going for walks with the headphones around the block a fair few times. I miss all the walking i used to do at Glen Helen.
Last night i filled out my tax return forms, so i should get that money some time next week. Which means leaving Melbourne by the end of the month hopefully :)
Still not sure where exactly i am going to be going, but i have a couple of friends finished work in Alice Springs mid August, so if i am in the area at that time, which hopefully i am. Then the three of us shall road trip from there up to Darwin.
Before i leave Melbourne, i am going to contact some Backpackers places in the city and put up signs on the notice boards there, that way i will hopefully be able to get a second passenger and then i will be able to split some petrol costs and not have to pay as much myself. (hopefully their not a serial killer or anything though)
Anyhow, thats it for my life for now, chat soon :)

Not much has changed, joking :)
Okay, so i havent written for a fair few days now.
Lets see whats new,
I stopped working at Glen Helen, as i felt like i needed to do something else with my life now, i reckon my time to leave had come.
I bought a Suzuki Vitara from Melbourne, which dad picked up for me the other day. He has organized the insurance and everything for me, so it is pretty much ready to pick up and drive.
I just passed my 'p' plate license test this morning. I was so nervous about going for this test, as i just left my job and i bought a car and i really wanted to start my road trip. If i failed, i would have to either go back to GHR with my tail between my legs asking if i can still work there until i can re-sit my test or i could bum around Alice Springs until i can re-sit my license, which probably would have made me spend a lot of money.
I fly to melbourne tomorrow, just bought my ticket then.
My goal, is to stay in Melbourne for a week or two, make sure that i have everything that i need and have done everything that i need to do to go on a road trip. Plus see everyone that i miss obviously as well :)
Soon (hopefully), i start a road trip slowly making my way through the great ocean road, adelaide, central australia, and eventually up to Darwin.
So i dont think much has changed, apart from almost everything.
Until next time, goodbye.

What do i write on a first blog?
Hey,
So this is Lukas chatting away here.
I have noticed that quite a few of my friends have blogs and i always write a journal, so i thought why not do it online and people can know what i am doing instead of me saying the same thing over and over again to different people. I have no idea what to write here, so im just gonna throw it all out there.
So this is my life so far:
I come from Melbourne, I've traveled the world (roughly), finished high school last year and didnt know what to do for University. So i thought why not travel my own country for a change. So here i am currently working in Glen Helen Resort near Alice Springs. Ive been traveling around Aus since January this year, two days after i turned 18 i started.
I was working in Fitzroy Crossing, a town full of aboriginals and i make friends with nothing but Taiwanese people that i was working with at IGA.
Left there and went to Melbourne for a few weeks and then got this job at GHR (Glen Helen Resort).
I serve so many backpackers here and i fully want to become one, it looks like it would be so much fun, grow dreadlocks and live in a van for awhile, what a life :-)
So i go for my license in a week or so and then i am gonna buy a car. I found this perfect car in Melbourne, a Suzuki Vitara, it is gonna be perfect for just driving around Aus with no commitments and just being able to drive wherever i want to go. Hopefully i can get it, dad is gonna go see the guy about it on Tuesday, as he lives there. Hopefully it hasnt sold yet, as i want it :) incase you havent picked up yet, im excited about my first ever car.
I leave Glen Helen on the 3rd, thats my last shift here, it'll be strange when i am gone, because they offer me all my meals and now im gonna actually have to cook, what will i ever do?
When im not working on my lovely reception/hospitality/cleaning/whatever i get told job, i chill out with other employees here. Alot of walking around the Gorge here and climbing up and over, i think thats the only exercise i do. Alot of poker nights, i have one twice now, so it has made me still up a little bit of gambling money, but about to go under again, lol.
Well i am gonna watch a movie now, i am thinking 'The Secret Life of Bees'.
Goodbye for now and ill keep you updated :-)
